Each Summer thousands of travelers flock to the New Jersey shore to soak in the sun, stroll the boardwalks, and enjoy a myriad of amusements. Ocean City, New Jersey is one of the more popular destinations for families and other weekend and holiday vacationers. Located just south of Atlantic City, Ocean City is known for its eight miles of clean, sandy beaches and two and a half mile stretch of boardwalk filled with numerous quaint shops and restaurants. Ocean City is also known for its amusement parks, including two of the oldest classic pier parks and a water park.
Established in 1914, The Wonderland Pier maintains over 35 rides and amusements including the giant Ferris wheel, bumper boats, log flume, a carousel, and the Runaway Train Coaster among many other attractions. Gillian's Wonderland Pier is a "pay-as-you-go" park requiring separate tickets for each ride. A book of 30 tickets costs $20. Purchase the Super Family Bonus Book and get 160 tickets for $100. The park is open seven days a week during the Summer and is open weekends during the Spring. The park is closed October thru March.

Playland's Castaway Cove maintains over 30 rides including the Double Shot, the Python and the Hurricane. Other amusements include the Super Slide, antique cars, bumper cars, a train ride, a game arcade, two mini-golf courses, and a go cart track. Individual tickets are $1.00 and ticket books are priced between $30 and $120. Ticket never expire. This facility is available for birthday parties May thru September. Just look for the pirate ship at 10th and Boardwalk.

Gillian's Island Water Park is one of the most fun places on the Ocean City boardwalk. Visitors can experience the turns and waterfalls of the Lazy River or the rush of the eight story Serpentine Slides. Guests may also enjoy the popular Skypond Journey or Splash Down Falls. Other attractions include a children's playground, Adventure mini-golf and the Cabana Club, a beach club-style lounge area where guests can lounge in the sun or enjoy the privacy of their own cabana for a day. The park is open 9:30am to 6pm from June 26 thru Labor Day. General admission tickets start at $25.95. Party packages are available.
