There are more than 15 amusement parks in the state of New Jersey, including Six Flags Great Adventure, Bowcraft Family Amusement Park and the Funtown Pier. Six Flags Great Adventure, the most well-known, has many rides that will interest preteen and teenage riders, while Bowcraft and Funtown have many rides that will accommodate younger children.
The Six Flags Great Adventure park in Jackson, New Jersey, will thrill kids of all ages. The park has the number-two ranked wooden roller coaster and number-seven steel coaster according to Theme Parks Magazine. Many rides at this park are centered around popular cartoon and comic characters such as Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Superman and Batman. The park offers rides for kids of all heights. Older kids, or those at least 54 inches tall, can enjoy every ride at the park. For smaller kids that are at least 36 inches tall, there are at least 22 rides and attractions that they can enjoy by themselves or with an adult. Smaller children under 36 inches tall have at least 18 different ride options that they can enjoy on their own or with an adult.

The Bowcraft Family Amusement Park is located in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. The park features several rides that will accommodate most small children. Kids 48 inches or taller will be able to enjoy every ride at the park, while those under 36 inches may need to be accompanied by an adult on many of the attractions. Some of the more moderate rides, such as the Merry-Go-Round, will accommodate kids of all sizes.

The Funtown Pier, located on the boardwalk in Seaside Park, New Jersey, is fun for kids of all ages and sizes. The amusement park offers 21 kiddie and family rides such as the Funtown Family coaster and the Mighty Mouse. Another six or seven rides are reserved for older children and adult riders, including the Sky Coaster and the Tower of Fear. When your family is done riding, they are only steps away from the beach, where they can have fun swimming in the ocean or making sand castles on the New Jersey shore.
