Warren County, New Jersey, offers an abundance of recreational areas and state parks, each with its own unique appeal. Historic villages, hiking, boating, rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, horseback riding and canoeing are just a few of the activities that are possible with the backdrop of mountains, lakes, rivers and meadows.
Stephens State Park is more than 800 acres and is situated alongside the Musconetcong River. The park offers a variety of attractions and things to do. Visit Waterloo Village, a historic Indian village with working sawmills and gristmills, historic houses, a blacksmith shop and a general store. The park also offers nature programs in season, camping, fishing, hunting, rock climbing, boating and six miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding, walking or mountain biking.

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area spans more than 40 miles and encompasses attractions both in New Jersey and across the Delaware River in Pennsylvania. The park features more than 100 miles of hiking trails (a portion of which are along the Appalachian Trail), waterfalls, swimming on riverside beaches, campgrounds, historic villages, fishing and canoeing.

Worthington State Forest offers more than 6,500 acres of rugged, rocky terrain ranging from Dunnfield Creek to the Delaware River. Sunfish Pond, a popular park attraction, was formed in the last ice age by glaciers. There are more than 26 miles of trails, including canoe trails on the Delaware River and portions of the Appalachian Trail. Climb to the top of Mt. Tammany for sweeping views of the Delaware Water Gap. The park also offers various programs, camping, fishing, boating, hunting, picnicking and winter sports such as skiing and snowmobiling.

Rockport Pheasant Farm spans more than 490 acres and is under the umbrella of the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife. The farm raises ring-necked pheasants for sporting purposes and has been in operation since 1923. A visit to the farm exhibits how pheasants are raised, offers viewing of pheasants and other birds, and scenic walking along the Morris Canal, which passes directly through the canal. Visitors may picnic on-site; however, there are no toilet or concession facilities.
