Labor Day Festivals in Northern Indiana

The Indiana State Festival Association compiles information on more than 300 festivals which are held in the state each year. Most of these festivals are held from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Hoosiers in the northern part of the state will find a number of festivals to visit on Labor Day, the classic end of summer.

  1. Farmer's Pike Festival

    • Farmer's Pike Festival is located near New Castle, Indiana. It begins on Friday before Labor Day and runs through Labor Day. This festival features 400 vendors selling items, such as antiques, collectibles and craft items. In addition to the merchandise offered for sale, there are dozens of food and game booths scattered throughout the grounds, which is a large field just off of State Road 38. Gospel, bluegrass and country music bands play throughout the four-day event. Festival goers are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs to sit in while listening to the music or even dance if they would like. Limited camping sites are available near the festival grounds. Shuttle service is also available from the parking areas to the festival grounds. Handicapped access is also available for those with limited mobility.

    Marshall County Blueberry Festival

    • The Marshall County Blueberry Festival begins the Friday before Labor Day and runs through Labor Day. It is held in Centennial Park in Plymouth, Indiana. On Monday, there will be a one-mile fun run, a 5K run, 15K run and 15K wheelchair race. Local bands will play on stages set up throughout the park. There are over 100 food vendors, most of whom feature blueberry pies, muffins and pies. There are also more than 400 craft vendors who sell items ranging from wood crafts to jewelry. Carnival rides will include a carousel, train, swings and kiddie cars. A parade will also be held on Monday morning. This parade highlights the festival queen, Miss Blueberry.

    Earl Park Fall Festival

    • The Earl Park Fall Festival is held in the town park of the city of Earl Park. It runs from Friday before Labor Day through Labor Day. Visitors to this fall festival may tour the first wind farm in the state of Indiana to become fully-operational. Other free events include a truck and tractor pull, car show, horseshoe tournament, demolition derby, pedal tractor pull and mud volleyball. There are dozens of flea market and craft booths as well as a wide selection of concessions. There will be bluegrass bands playing in the park throughout the duration of the festival. The festival will end with a parade through the town on Labor Day afternoon.
