Chinquapins, deciduous trees from the beech family, receive much of the attention at the annual Chinquapin Festival held during Labor Day weekend. The Mountain Meadow Farm and Craft Market hosts this annual event which showcases local craft vendors, local produce and live music. Admission to the festival is free, however, those wishing to enjoy the corn maze will be levied a small admission charge. The festival organizers recommend bringing your own lawn chair.

Live music, kite flying expeditions and sky diving highlight the Irvington Stomp. An annual event, the Irvington Stomp lets attendees get involved with stomping grapes by foot. Local mayors square off against each other in the "Stomp Off," signaling the beginning of festivities. Children can visit the petting zoo or choose to have their face painted. Festival vendors offer food and drinks for sale. Leave the coolers at home and bring a blanket or chair.
