Most of Arizona enjoys a dry climate and year-round sunshine. In February, Phoenix has average temperatures between 45 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit while Flagstaff is much cooler between 17 and 45 degrees Fahrenheit. There are many activities and attractions that are ideal for the February weather in Arizona.
Visit Tucson in February to watch the Accenture Match Play Championship, part of the World Golf Championship. In 2011, the championship will be from February 21 through 27 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain. Or play a game of golf yourself at one of the more than 20 courses in Tucson including the Crooked Tree Golf Course, the Del Lago Golf Club or the Quail Canyon Golf Course.
In mid-February, attend the Annual Gold Rush Days and Rodeo in Wickenburg, Arizona. The event includes parades, mock gun fights, gold panning, a carnival and rodeo performances. Other attractions in Wickenburg include the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, the Nature Conservancy Hassayampa River Preserve, the Vulture Mine and a self-guided Historical Walking Tour through Wickenburg.
February is a good month for skiing or snowboarding at the Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff, Arizona. The resort features 777 acres of land and a 2,300 foot vertical drop. There is also a Sunset Terrain Park with rails, fun boxes and other obstacles for skiers and snowboarders. The Arizona Snowbowl's Ski & Ride School offers lessons for adults and children at all levels of skiing and snowboarding.
