St. Elmo, CO Motels

St Elmo, Colorado, is a former gold- and silver-mining town that has been largely uninhabited since 1922. It is among the most well-preserved ghost towns in Colorado and draws thousands of tourists each year. Visitors to St. Elmo can choose from four lodging options within 10 miles of the town center.

    • The closest lodging to the heart of old St. Elmo is Streamside Bed & Breakfest, located in neighboring Nathrop, Colorado. In addition to a home-cooked breakfast, guests may take advantage of in-room refrigerators, hairdryers and microwaves. Children are not allowed on the premises, but you may bring alcohol with you.

    La Roca De Tiza

    • Located east of downtown St. Elmo, La Roca De Tiza offers guests the opportunity to stay in an a lodge located between two 14,000 mountains in the San Isabel National Forest. Guests of the lodge's three rooms receive a full breakfast and complimentary wine and fruit. The chef takes special meal requests, including low-fat and vegetarian options. Children over 5 years old may stay with their parents and small pets are allowed. Rooms cost between $110 and $140 per night, as of September 2010.

    Hahns Haven

    • Hahns Haven is a bed-and-breakfast lodge that features gorgeous views of the Rocky Mountains. If you are interested in luxury accommodations then you may consider the Queen Bee suite, which features a deck with views of Mount Princeton, for $125 per night as of September 2010. Three other tastefully apportioned rooms are available throughout the lodge for $89 to $99 as of September 2010. All guests are promised a home-cooked breakfast and friendly conversation from the lodge's artistically inclined owner.

    Cottonwood Hotsprings Inn

    • The Cottonwood Hotsprings Inn is a hotel and spa northeast of the ghost town of St. Elmo. In addition to a full-service spa, all guests at the inn receive complementary use of on-site hot springs, soaking pools and a dry sauna 24 hours a day. Rooms are available with two double beds starting at $97 per night, and rooms with a single king bed are available starting at $102 per night as of September 2010. The lodge requires a minimum two-night stay on the weekends and during holidays and offers discounts for stays of three nights or more during off-peak dates. Alcohol is not allowed on the resort premises, but children are allowed for an additional $25 per child per night, as of September 2010.
