Texas holds the key to many eye-catching cities, towns and ocean-side locations. Vast landscapes with oak trees and green rolling hills make the great state of Texas appealing to those looking for a place to settle down. Many historic charming towns are also located near major cities. However, in between some desired spots are are desert regions so do your homework before choosing a place to settle down permanently.

  1. Burnet

    • Bluebonnet clusters are seen all throughout Texas, but Burnet is known for their vivid bluebonnet displays.

      Burnet Texas is sometimes called the bluebonnet capital of the globe because this city has a high bluebonnet flower population. Bluebonnets are also the state flower of Texas. This area also features rolling hills, lakes and other plant life. Enjoy hiking on one of the many hiking trails or go shopping at the farmers markets. Several golf courses are also located in Burnet. The town also has rich history with many historic buildings. Burnet is found on the outskirts of San Antonio and Austin. This town is a great choice for a family looking for a small town atmosphere that isn't too far away from a big city.

    San Antonio

    • San Antonio is another eye-catching place to live in the "lone star state". This city is relatively clean with parks throughout the city and hiking trails on the outskirts. Many historical buildings are located in the heart of the city. You can also enjoy boat tours in a river that goes through parts of the city. The San Antonio river walk is the highlight of this area. This park is set in the heart of San Antonio near the river canal that cuts right through the city. Enjoy taking a walk, shopping or going on a boat ride through the city. SeaWorld, Six Flags and other theme parks are also located in this city. The weather is sunny throughout the majority of the year and the winters are mild.

    Lake Dallas

    • Lake Dallas is a small resort-like town just outside of the big city of Dallas Texas. This town has it's own lake, hiking and other outdoor activities such as golf and horse back riding. The location is very serene and the big city of Dallas is close by if you want to enjoy other city attractions. Move to lake Dallas if you love fishing or spending time at the lake. This city also offers plenty of shopping right in town along with old historic buildings and other activities.
