Maryland is packed with many fun things for single adults to see and do. Known for its natural beauty and as a great state for water activities, Maryland offers plenty of choices for singles to enjoy the outdoors. Baltimore, Annapolis and other cities provide a rich cultural playground to entertain and stimulate the vibrant singles community.
Since 1978, Singles on Sailboats has brought together singles who love sailing for fun-filled events. The nonprofit organization welcomes single sailors of all skill levels, novice and experienced, to participate in many activities like daylong sails, weekend and extended cruises, sailing education classes, and social functions at sea and on shore. SOS members, over 700 as of 2010, sail around Chesapeake Bay and Annapolis.

Singles Enjoying the Arts is devoted to helping Baltimore's single adults enjoy the city's cultural and artistic activities. Members attend the many local fine and performing arts events like concerts, dance competitions and film festivals. Additional excursions include touring gardens, museums and house parties. All events occur only on the weekend. Day trips for shopping in New York City and visiting Amish country are favorite affairs.

Singles who love to dance will enjoy the Fredrick Singles. It is the largest singles dance club in Maryland and Delaware. More than 400 members attend the dances that are held every first, third and fifth Sunday evening of a given month. Dance styles include ballroom, tango, foxtrot and jitterbug. The organization is active in the community with its annual scholarship for a child of a single parent to attend a community college. Fredrick Singles members volunteer year-round at the local hospice, American Cancer Society and United Way.

Central Maryland is home to First Place Singles, a social group for single men and women age 39 and older. It started in 1992 as a weekly house party for singles then grew into its current membership of more than 100. Members enjoy fun and lively social activities like dances, hiking and biking trips, and nature walks. The club attends sports events, theater shows and jazz clubs.
