    • Broad Ripple Brewpub opened in 1990 and as of 2010 had been the annual winner of the Indianapolis Monthly magazine's readers' award for "Best Brew Pub" each year since 1996. The menu begins with 14 appetizer selections, including a specialty, Scotch eggs--two hard-boiled eggs wrapped in sausage, then breaded, deep fried and served with ranch dip. The dinner menu includes a variety of English pub favorites like shepherd's pie, as well as entree salads, specialty pizzas and sandwiches. Broad Ripple features six beers made on-site, as well as at least one seasonal special cask ale. It's open daily for lunch and dinner. Reservations are not accepted. Casual attire is appropriate. The restaurant hosts special events regularly, such as classic car shows.

    Brugge Brasserie

    • Brugge Brasserie specializes in brewing Belgian-style beers and features a menu of Belgian favorite dishes. A favorite appetizer on the menu is the traditional Belgian frites or french fries, served made to order with toppings like house-made mayonnaise, spicy curry sauce, roasted garlic aioli and sea salt and sherry vinegar. Entrees include a Belgian fish stew called waterzooi and savory crepes prepared in nine different styles, such as the duck breast and sweet onion. For dessert, try the crepes suzette with mascarpone cheese. Beer selections change frequently, with usually at least five of the restaurant's own beers available on tap. Brugge Brasserie is open daily for lunch and dinner. Reservations are not accepted, but the restaurant does allow for call-ahead seating. Casual attire is the norm here. A children's menu is available.

    Scotty's Brewhouse

    • Established in 1996, Scotty's Brewhouse features locations in both downtown and North Indianapolis. Fifteen appetizers lead the menu, including bone-in and boneless buffalo wings, deep-fried dill pickles and spinach and artichoke dip. Among the dinner entrees are barbecue ribs, tilapia with pineapple salsa and Thai-style peanut chicken skewers. Scotty's serves a variety of desserts, such as carrot cake and peanut pie, both made in-house. The restaurant features regular specials on its house-crafted beers as well as on certain cocktails and wines. Scotty's Brewhouse is open daily for lunch and dinner. Reservations are not accepted. Casual attire is suggested. A children's menu is offered, as is a gluten-free menu for diners with dietary restrictions.
