Iceland, situated in New Hyde Park, is a western Long Island skating rink that is an approximate 15-minute drive from Queens that offers public sessions Friday nights, as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Skate rentals are available during these times.
Iceland offers ice skating lessons, as well as specialized clinics for hockey and figure skating. The rink also has a ice hockey league for children 6 through 17.

The Port Washington Skating Center is in the Long Island city of Port Washington, only a 20-minute drive from Queens. The center offers public sessions year-round. During the summer, the sessions are during the morning Mondays through Saturdays. However, the rink is open during the afternoons every day of the week in the fall, winter and spring months.
