Buffalo, New York has become well-known for its spicy chicken wing appetizers but the city has a lot more to offer tourists. Located near Niagara Falls, Buffalo is approximately 400 miles from New York City. Buffalo is noted for its Art Deco buildings juxtaposed with sleek glass skyscrapers. Tourists will find attractions from cultural opportunities, to rock-climbing, to homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

  1. Buffalo City Hall

    • The Buffalo City Hall is an Art Deco building designed with intricate detailing and impressive murals. Tours are free of charge, beginning in the lobby. Graycliff, another Frank Lloyd Wright house built for Darwin D. Martin, is situated on a cliff with eight acres overlooking Lake Erie.

    Shea’s Performing Arts Center

    • You can take in a Broadway-style theater production at Shea’s Performing Arts Center. Recent offerings included "The Nutcracker," "Shrek the Musical" and "Dreamgirls."

    Rock City

    • If you enjoy rock-climbing or a walk in an unusual location, visit Rock City. Here you will find quartz and wildflowers among the rock formations reaching up to several stories in height.
