Campgrounds in Orange Beach, Alabama

Orange Beach, on the Alabama Gulf coast, has beaches, the ocean and plenty of wilderness area. There are long beaches and the Tarkin Bayou Preserve State Park is nearby. Walking on the beach is a favorite activity, and there are many trails in the area off the beach. Deep sea fishing charters are available, as well as many water sports activities. It is a well-developed tourist area, but there is still plenty of nature to enjoy and experience. Travelers have a choice of campgrounds in the area.

  1. Plantation Harbour RV Park

    • Plantation Harbour RV Park is back a little from the busy Orange Beach attractions, so visitors can relax here between enjoying all there is to do on the Gulf coast. This campground has about any kind of accommodation that guests might want, whether they want to buy an RV and lot, rent an RV that is already set up or bring their own RV or pop-up. There are daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal rates.

      All of the 166 spaces have full hookups--water, sewer and electric--with 30- and 50-amp connections. A few have 100-amp connections. There is also a daily trash pickup. Bathrooms and showers are available to guests. Cable-TV and Wi-Fi are free. There is a swimming pool, nature trail, meeting room, laundry, kitchen and game room. A pier, with boat slips, is available on Miflin Creek.

    Playa Del Rio

    • This campground is on the Perdido Beach area, which is a sandbar separate from the mainland. Playa Del Rio RV Resort is just a few blocks from the ocean on one side, and two blocks from the water on the other side. This is a relatively small campground, but is close to the water and all the action of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. There are 30 sites, all with full hookups--water, sewer and electric--with 20-, 30- and 50-amp hookups. Cable TV and WiFi are readily available and free. The campground has a laundry, bathrooms and showers, community grills and picnic area, and a public use building. Dogs are welcome. A pier is on the edge of the campground and guests can go crabbing or fishing there. Charter fishing operations are next door.

    Gulf Shores Pensacola West KOA

    • The Pensacola West KOA offers beachfront camping on Perdido Bay. The site is in the thick of gulf coast activities, between Orange Beach and Pensacola, Florida. This campground has something for everyone, with room enough for big-rigs and places for tents. The RV sites offer full hookups--water, sewer and electric--and have 30- and 50-amp connections. Free Wi-Fi and Cable TV are available to guests. Showers and bathrooms are available, along with a laundry and recreational building.

      There are one- and two-bedroom cabins on the water. The cabins have a bed, futon, bunk beds, shower, toilet, microwave, basic kitchen utensils and a flat-screen TV. There is a pier with boat slips, and there are planned activities for campers.
