Several RV campgrounds are within one mile of the main entrance to Disneyland and also near stops on the Anaheim Resort Transit route, a city-operated transportation system with stops at Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and other tourist locations. The Anaheim Harbor RV Park (anaheimharborrvpark.com) and the Anaheim Resort RV Park (anaheimresortrvpark.com) are within walking distance of the park and offer amenities such as heated pools and picnic tables in an urban setting. RV campers looking for a setting closer to nature might be interested in the Canyon RV Park (canyonrvpark.com), a few miles from Disneyland in the Anaheim Hills.
Camping at Bolsa Chica State Beach (parks.ca.gov/) is an affordable way to see Huntington Beach, one of the most iconic beach cities in California. Camping at the beach lets you see the wildlife or take a walk on the strand toward the Huntington Beach Pier three miles north. The campgrounds have electrical and water hookups and are next to a section of the beach where dogs are allowed to play without a leash. The City of Huntington Beach operates the Sunset Vista Recreational Vehicle Campground (huntingtonbeachca.gov), which has 46 spaces with electrical and water hookups and a dump station, and sits at a convenient location across from the pier in downtown Huntington Beach.
Doheny State Beach in Dana Point is a popular spot for whale watching, fishing and other beach-related activities for visitors to southern Orange County. The campgrounds at Doheny State Beach (dohenystatebeach.org/camping.htm) can accommodate RV vehicles of up to 35 feet at campsites on the southern section of the park. The northern end of the campgrounds have a five-acre lawn with picnic tables, volleyball courts and access to surfing and fishing.
The Orange County Fairgrounds and Event Center (ocfair.com) is home to the annual Orange County Fair, while its Pacific Amphitheater is a year-round venue for sporting events, music concerts and other activities. RV camping is allowed on the fairgrounds for visitors who want to stay close to the action. Campgrounds include water and electrical outlets along with a dump station, but the maximum 20 amps per campsite means that air conditioners and other large appliances can be run only with personal generators. Fair campgrounds are closed for some major events, such as the Orange County Fair; campgrounds in Huntington Beach are good options during fair days.
