We 'n' Wild Phoenix

• Visit the Wet'n'Wild Phoenix during Labor Day Weekend for an extra long day of fun. Opening at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, you can enjoy a full day of slides and attractions, and then in the evening enjoy an all-you-can-eat barbecue in the Red Rock Ravine Events Plaza. Afterward, a fireworks display begins at 9:30 p.m., and the park closes at 10 p.m. Tickets are available ahead of time and on the day of if there is still availability.

Phoenix Cooks!

• Each Labor Day Weekend, Phoenix hosts the annual Phoenix Cooks! event, which is considered Arizona's premier culinary event. On the Saturday before Labor Day, you can head to the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa to taste restaurant specialties from over 50 restaurants and resorts in the area. Also, learn how to cook favorite dishes, how to make dishes healthier and how to pair food with wine and beer from demonstrations and interactive workshops with the pros.

Maricopa County Parks

• The Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department hosts a variety of annual events on the three-day weekend of Labor Day. Activities include a five-mile bike ride along a park trail for beginners, a Hiking 101 event that takes people on an educated hiking tour through the parks, an educational bugs and butterflies seminar, a hands-on snake feeding session for people of all ages, a class on the gold miners and labor history, and more.
