Visitors to the Georgia Aquarium can experience the world's largest collection of aquatic animals in 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water. Galleries include Cold Water Quest, Georgia Explorer, Ocean Voyager, River Scout, Tropical Diver, a 4D Theater. A Dolphin Exhibit is scheduled to open in the fall of 2010. Visitors can see such exotic sea creatures as giant groupers, beluga whales and whale sharks that have never been seen outside of Asia. It takes approximately two to four hours to experience the entire aquarium.

Zoo Atlanta is home to more than 50 bird species, 20 amphibian species, 40 mammal species and 100 native and exotic snake, turtle and lizard species, and the Georgia Backyard Wildlife Habitat exhibits plants that are native to Georgia and the Southeastern U.S. Popular exhibits include daily elephant demonstrations, orangutan feedings and the Chinese pandas. Tours of the zoo take two to three hours.

After making its home at Underground Atlanta for 17 years, the World of Coca-Cola opened in a new location, near Centennial Park, on May 24, 2007. It features a fully functioning bottling line, interactive events, Coke memorabilia, a pop-culture gallery and a 4D movie theater. Visitors can taste 60 different products from around the world. Tours of the World of Coca-Cola take approximately 90 minutes.

The Atlanta Botanical Gardens has numerous indoor and outdoor collections of plants. The two major attractions--the Orchids and the greenhouse--feature the work of local and international artists. The Canopy Walk (a unique reverse suspension bridge), Edible Gardens and Cascade Gardens were scheduled to open in May 2010. This expansion nearly doubled the size of the gardens.

Located west of Atlanta, Six Flags Over Georgia amusement park offers many thrill, family and kid rides, concerts, festivals and events. The park also features theme areas, Broadway-style musicals, interactive games and many restaurants and shops. Some popular thrill rides include the Great American Scream Machine, the Georgia Cyclone, Superman: Ultimate Flight and Goliath.
