Plunge into a world of sea creatures from tiny turtles to the great white shark while visiting one of the many family attractions that Atlanta has to offer. Your toddler will likely scream in delight at Deepo's Undersea 3D Wondershow at the Georgia Aquarium. Visit Zoo Atlanta for that once-in-a-lifetime photo as you snap pictures of your kids frolicking with the newborn goats and sheep in the petting zoo.       Known for its natural habitats, giant pandas and gorilla twins, Zoo Atlanta is a must-see destination for families with small children. The zoo encompasses more than 40 acres and accommodates about 1,000 animals. The new interactive Wild Like Me exhibit, an indoor play area built for kids and designed to inspire and teach children about animals and their environments, is popular with children. The Children's Zoo is located under a colorful pavilion housing a petting zoo and the Nabisco Endangered Species Carousel, featuring murals depicting endangered animals and their offspring. The zoo is open 363 days a year and rents single and double strollers. Straws and glass are not permitted in the zoo.

    Atlanta Center for Puppetry Arts

    • Shows often sell out a year in advance.

      Finding a seat in the 300-seat theater of Atlanta Center for Puppetry Arts is not a problem as long as you have a reservation. Toddlers are drawn to this full-stage performance of puppets with elaborate props and riveting story lines. Family shows are scheduled during the day, while evening performances are appropriate for teens and adults. The center has an extensive collection of Jim Henson puppets from "The Muppet Show" and "Sesame Street" that are sure to delight toddlers as well. Advance reservations are recommended as popular performances sell out quickly.

    Children's Museum Atlanta

    • Imagine It! offers hands-on exhibits for your toddler.

      Across the street from Centennial Olympic Park, Imagine It! Children's Museum Atlanta offers four major learning zones: Fundamentally Food, Let Your Creativity Flow, Tools for Solutions and Leaping into Learning, a zone specifically designed for toddlers. Imagine It! includes entertaining interactive exhibits for children 2 through 8 to explore and learn. A secondary gallery has changing exhibits such as Curious George, Bob the Builder and Amazing Castle. Chick-fil-A and Eats and Treats provide snacks and drinks. Advance ticket purchase is recommended to avoid waiting in line.

    Georgia Aquarium

    • The Georgia Aquarium is a visual delight for little ones.

      Since November 2005, the Georgia Aquarium has amazed young and old with thousands of sea creatures and plants, including tiger sharks and sea dragons. The "Growing Guppies" program, designed around a toddlers' curiosity, offers programs designed to capture a toddler's imagination with music, puppets, storytelling, crafts and activities. Advance reservations are recommended, and all guests go through a security checkpoint before entering the aquarium. A food court is provided.
