Things for Teens to Do in Atlanta, Georgia

Restless teenagers are always on the prowl for exciting things to do. Their impatience for places they deem boring can make it difficult for parents to plan a family trip. A vacation to Atlanta---with its numerous attractions, amusements, museums, events and festivals---can keep even the most hard-to-please adolescents entertained and busy throughout the trip.
  1. Center for Puppetry Arts

    • The Center for Puppetry Arts is the largest puppet organization in North America. The center was built in 1978 and has since hosted numerous workshops and performances. The puppetry center is a hands-on museum and has a number of themed sections. For instance, "Puppets: the Power of Wonder" discusses retrospectively how puppetry has helped mold the state of religion, people and politics throughout history.

The next segment of the tour is a look at the special exhibits section that groups puppets according to theme and style. Once you are done with the tour, you and your teenagers may want to visit the museum store to purchase souvenirs for their friends back home. The Center of Puppetry Arts caters to kids and adults as well.
