Start off with an order of gimbab (rice rolls with pickled vegetables, crab meat, beef and egg) or yuk hwe (raw beef with sesame oil, pine nuts, Korean pear and egg yolk). Main dishes include traditional Korean plates such as spicy kimchi soup with pork, tofu, and vegetables, jab chae (stir-fried sweet potato noodles with mixed veggies and choice of beef, chicken, or pork) and classic galbi (grilled marinated beef ribs).

    The Korean House

    • Since 2005, The Korean House has been serving authentic Korean cuisine in the Symmes Township area of greater Cincinnati. Here you´ll find classic Korean appetizers such as kimchi pajon (Korean-style pancake served with kimchi and scallion) and gol baengi muchim (steamed snails) as well as Japanese sushi. Entrees include je yook bookgum (stir-fry of spicy marinated pork and vegetables), grilled mackerel, and hwe dub bap (assorted raw fish over steamed rice). The Korea House also offers takeout and party trays to go.

    Riverside Korean Restaurant

    • Just across the Ohio River in Covington, Ky., this popular Korean restaurant was voted 10th best restaurant in the Cincinnati area by Cincinnati Magazine in both 2009 and 2010. Riverside offers a diverse selection of fresh, affordable Korean fare. Appetizers include yang nyum du bu (pan fried tofu with toasted seaweed and house sauce) and bin dae duk (ground mung bean pancake with vegetables and pork). Riverside also serves a number of seafood entrees such as pan-fried salted mackerel, grilled baby octopus with spicy sauce, and spicy clam soup with tofu and vegetables.
