Korean Restaurants in Montreal

Located alongside the St. Lawrence River, Montreal is the second largest city in Canada. Much of the city's restaurants are situated in the vicinity of Vieux Quebec, or old Quebec which sits between the Upper Town and Lower Town. Although Montreal is not known for Korean cuisine, the city offers a few quality restaurants to please the Korean food aficionado.

    • Occupying the former location of Dunkin Donuts, Bulgogi serves hearty Korean fare in a small space with minimal décor. The restaurant specializes in bulgogi,or marinated beef, as well as spicy stews packed with fiery red chili peppers and ingredients such as tofu, squid and meats. Other popular items include the dol sot bi bim bap, a dish of rice, vegetables and beef served in a piping hot stone pot.

    Arirang

    • Located near Maison Bulgogi, Arirang is a small eatery known for serving MSG-free Korean food. Although the menu includes standard Korean fare such as spicy stews, items worth trying include the teok-bok-gi, a stew made of chewy rice cake and fish cake slices, or the garlicky beef bi bim bap served with generous portions of sliced beef and vegetables along with a fried egg.

    • With its sleek stone walls, old Korean print décor and call buttons at each table for signaling waiters, Atti dishes up Korean fare in a modern and upscale ambiance. Popular dishes include the bulgogi beef and bibimbap. Another popular entree is the haemul kimchijeon, a savory pancake studded with seafood chunks and a generous dose of kimchi. Vegetarians will appreciate the vegetarian tofu stew and the sweet potato noodles with vegetables.
