Eastern Washington generally enjoys drier, warmer weather than western Washington, making for a unique climate all its own and a great place to enjoy summertime water sports. The Columbia River marks the southern boundary of the entire state, and to the north, the Canadian border is the state boundary. The Cascade Mountains separate eastern Washington from the rest of the state, while the Snake River creates the eastern state line. Within the boundaries of eastern Washington, lakes, rivers and ancient land formations form the backdrop for some dramatic recreational opportunities.
Peach Beach is in the southeastern Washington Columbia Gorge area near the town of Goldendale. About one quarter of the resort's 82 RV campsites are waterfront sites along the Columbia River. If you bring a boat along, you can fish for salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, walleye or bass. You can follow the Peach Beach access road up the hillside for some unparalleled Columbia River Gorge views. At the top, visit Maryhill winery for a wine tasting. Stop at the Maryhill museum and the miniature replica of Stonehenge on your return journey to Peach Beach Campground. Most RV sites have full hook-up facilities, and the nightly fee is $20 to $25.
