Seneca Lake in New York State is the deepest among the Finger Lakes at 630 feet below sea level. Fifty percent of the water in all of the Finger Lakes is in Seneca Lake. It also has far more wineries than any of the other Finger Lakes combined. Around it are the counties of Yates in the West, Ontario in the Northwest, Seneca in the Northeast, and Schuyler in the South. Being a popular tourist resort, Seneca Lake and its surroundings have a number of oft-frequented restaurants, many with nice views.
Dano's is America's first heuriger, a traditional Viennese restaurant concept where food viewed at a display counter is ordered a la carte, either all at once or slowly. Sharing is encouraged so customers can sample many flavors. Parties of six to nine may choose the "Chef's Table," a variety of offerings served family style. Dano's combines this concept with Seneca's wines and the Viennese-inspired cooking of chef/co-owner Dano Hutnik and pastry chef/co-owner Karen Gilman. This restaurant can seat 150 people, terrace-seating included.

Located on the southern tip of Seneca Lake, this restaurant is a restored train station from the year 1876, renovated with a mahogany bar, 16-foot ceilings and a spiral staircase. The elevated dining room and the deck both have spectacular views of Seneca Lake. Sea foods are popular in this eatery, although they also have sandwiches for kids, pastas, chicken, different types of steaks and other varied dishes. Cruise ships may be boarded from here, and weddings and other events are often held here.

The B after Henry stands for Bonafiglia; Henry Bonafiglia was the grandfather of the founder Bruce H. Bonafiglia, who is responsible for having brought many of the recipes on the menu from Italy. The present owner, Stephen Turri, says sharing (all the dishes and utensils are placed in the center of the table) makes the restaurant unique, giving customers the opportunity to sample different dishes. The menu has antipasti, insalata, pasta, pasta con carne and carne. The specialty is Bistecca Henry, a 20-ounce bone-in ribeye grilled with fresh herbs and olive oil served over green beans.
