  1. Captain George's Seafood Restaurant

    • The son of Greek immigrants, George Pitsilides and his wife Sherry opened the first Captain George's in Virginia Beach in 1978. Since then, they opened three more locations including one which opened in 2000 in Myrtle Beach. They serve a daily seafood buffet with more than 70 items including soups, salads, entrees, side dishes and desserts. Everything is made fresh and in the restaurant every day. Enjoy Alaskan Snow Crab Legs, Mahi Mahi and stuffed clams. Also in the buffet are cobblers, cakes and the Greek pastry, Baklava. In 2004, 1/13th of the world's supply of crab legs was booked by Captain George's.

    Pier 14 Restaurant and Lounge

    • Watch the sun set over the ocean while you dine at Pier 14. Originally built as a night club and late night dinner restaurant, Pier 14 in its first incarnation did not find much success. In 1986 under new ownership, Pier 14 was reopened as a restaurant and lounge and has been going strong ever since. Start off with oysters on a half shell or the Famous "Shark Bites." Then move on to the Blackened Grouper Reuben or the Shrimp and Kamini Crab Sandwich. If you're looking for something a little heartier, try Pier 14's Chicken Crustacean (chicken breast lightly battered and covered with crab, scallops and shrimp in a creamy sherry sauce.) Or sit on the deck and sip on a cocktail while enjoying the beach view.

    Sea Captain's House Restaurant

    • Open seven days a week and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Sea Captain's House Restaurant has been a staple of Myrtle Beach since 1930. It has since been a guest house, was almost torn down to be made into a high rise hotel but then changed back into a restaurant. With views of the Atlantic, try the Seafarer's Omelet for breakfast (three eggs, lump crabmeat, shrimp, mushrooms and jack cheese.) For dinner you can have the pecan crusted grouper or The Captain's Seafood Muddle (scallops, shrimp, mussels, clams and fish in a saffron tomato broth and bacon, celery, potatoes and herbs.)
