Things to Do in San Francisco in February

Visiting San Francisco in February is unlike many places in the U.S. because it rarely gets below 60 degrees during the day and 45 degrees at night. It is wet, however, so visitors should brace themselves for the rain, which averages about four inches in February. The best way to enjoy San Francisco in February is to duck out of the rain and into one of the many museums, independent movie theaters and day spas that the city has to offer.

  1. Go to the museums

    • A lot of San Francisco museums are open all-year round and are a good way to get out of the winter rain. Three museums that feature new exhibits frequently are the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), the Asian Art Museum and the Museum of the African Diaspora (MOAD). Check each website before you go to see what exhibits are currently showing.

Sundance Cinema Kabuki shows newly released independent movies. It has a bar area upstairs where you can order a glass of wine while you are waiting or to take with you to the balcony area reserved for those over 21 years of age.
