* Be least 25 years old by election day.
* Have been a registered voter in the district of the seat sought for at least one year prior to the election.
Disqualifications
* A person who has been convicted of a felony.
* A person who is incompetent or mentally ill.
* A person who has been convicted of a corrupt practice.
* A person who is mentally incompetent or has been judicially declared mentally incompetent and has not been judicially declared competent.
