Parks near Lehigh Acres, Florida

Lehigh Acres is located in southwest Florida, about 20 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. The area is home to a variety of outdoor attractions, including the Cecil M. Webb State Wildlife Management Area, Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed and the Okaloacoochee Slough State Forest. Lehigh Acres and surrounding towns such as Fort Meyers and Alva also have a number of parks that allow residents and visitors to enjoy sports fields, play sets and outdoor programs.

  1. Lehigh Acres Community Park

    • Lehigh Acres Community Park is located on the west side of Lehigh Acres, on the corner of Williams Avenue and Lee Boulevard. The park sits on a 20-acre lot and is about 3 miles from the Southwest Florida International Airport. The park includes a softball field, tennis courts, baseball fields, a community pool, football field, practice field, swing set and a pavilion, which can be used on a first-come, first-serve basis. All park facilities are open to the public unless permitted for special use and are open from dusk until dawn.

    Manatee Park

    • Manatee Park is located in Fort Meyers, about 4 miles from Lehigh Acres. It is conveniently situated off Highway 75 and borders the Caloosahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. The park offers a variety of activities that highlight its natural surroundings, including a butterfly garden, fishing pier and boat rentals on the Orange River. The grounds also feature an amphitheater, visitor center, gift shop, picnic shelter and seasonal programs during most of the year. Programs include "Manatee -- All About Manatees" and "Eco-Detectives," both of which are geared toward children.

    Caloosahatchee Regional Park

    • Caloosahatchee Regional Park is located in Alva, less than 3 miles north of Lehigh Acres. The park sits on the shore of the Caloosahatchee River, which flows into the Gulf of Mexico. The park includes over 750 acres of cypress swamps, pine flatwoods and scrub oaks that are open to the public. It also offers carved hiking and biking trails as well as rustic fishing and camping sites. Caloosahatchee Regional Park features a variety of programs, including guided walks, kayak trips and astronomy, basket-making and wood-burning classes.
