Langley is a small town just west of the Virginia-Maryland border. As of January 2010, Langley was home to 1,310 residents, nearly a quarter of whom were Asian, and encompassed 1.3 square miles. The nearby towns of McLean; Washington, D.C.; and Bethesda also have high Asian populations. Because of this, the area features a variety of Asian restaurants, many of them of the Thai variety.
Pasa Thai is located in the border city of McLean and is the Thai restaurant closest to Langley. Pasa Thai uses traditional Thai techniques and experiments with distinctive Thai ingredients such as peanuts, coconut milk, spicy peppers and rice coconut milk. Chef-recommended dishes include red snapper, which is served with three flavors of sauce, and phu-ket phu-ket, which is an assortment of seafood served with a southern-style sauce. Pasa Thai features modern, industrial décor with stainless-steel finishes mixed with natural elements and earth tones.
Neisha is located about 3 miles east of Langley, in the center of Washington, D.C.’s Tenleytown neighborhood. Rick, the owner and head chef, was inspired by both his homeland and family when creating the restaurant, and he named it after his daughter, Neisha. Signature dishes include crying tiger steak, which is served with vegetables, sticky rice and authentic spicy sauce, and ancient jumbo shrimp served with traditional peanut sauce, lime leaves and lemon grass. The dining room features whimsical touches including abstract landscape wall murals and a wooden bridge that connects one side of the room to the other. Neisha Thai Cuisine offers delivery within a 3-mile radius as well as catering services.
Sala Thai Restaurant is located about 5 miles from Langley, in Bethesda, Maryland, and within walking distance of the Bethesda Metro Station.
