Go to the home page of an airline's website or discount travel provider's website. The website will have a form to complete in order to get a listing of available flights. Enter the airport you are departing from, the arriving airport, your dates of travel, one-way or round trip, and the number of passengers. Each airport is identified by a three letter code, a listing of codes is available on most websites. Some websites also have an option available to search nearby airports and various travel dates in order to compare pricing.
Select the departing flight. Prices may vary depending on flight times and number of layovers. Select your returning flight if you are booking round-trip travel.
Select your seat assignments. Some websites allow seat assignment selection when booking your flight, others do not assign seats until check-in.
Provide a credit card number to complete your transaction. A confirmation number will appear on the screen and can also be emailed to you.
