Go to the website of the airline. On the home page there should be a link to a page for checking in online. Look for "Online Check-In" or "Easy Check-In" or simply "Check-In." Most websites will allow you to check in 24 hours prior to your flight and up to 90 minutes before the flight departs.
Enter your reservation or booking number. If you don't have the number you can also try your name or frequent flyer number. If it is still not accepting these, you will have to check in at the ticket gate.
Confirm the itinerary and, if you didn't do so when you booked the tickets, make your seat reservations. Follow the prompts to the point where it gives you the option to print your boarding passes. Print the pass and keep it with your flight information. If you are making connections, you will need to print a boarding pass for each leg of your flight. Do not exit the system until it says you have completed the check-in.
