As of 2010, the following items are prohibited to in carry-on luggage by the TSA: sharp objects including knives, box cutters, scissors, cleavers and swords; sporting goods including baseball bats, ski poles, pool cues, hockey sticks, golf clubs and spear guns; firearms and ammunition; tools including axes, hatchets, saws, crowbars and hammers; martial arts and self-defense items; explosive materials, flammable items and chemicals.
Liquids must be packed in a checked bag. If liquids are brought in a carry-on bag, they must be in 3.4 ounce bottles and placed in a quart-sized, clear, plastic bag. One plastic bag per passenger is permitted.
Adult passengers must present a U.S. federal or state-issued photo identification to be checked in for their flight. Acceptable forms of identification include a driver's license, passport or military ID card. Check the TSA website to see the full list of accepted forms of identification.
