About Deccan Airlines

Deccan Airlines, also known as Air Deccan and Kingfisher Red, is a low-cost airline servicing the country of India, and is the only one that flies to second-tier cities in the country.
  1. Deccan Airlines and Kingfisher Red

    • Kingfisher Airlines bought 28 percent of Air Deccan Airlines in 2007, changing its logo and company colors. Initially the company's name was changed to Simplify Deccan, then to Kingfisher Red, which is the name of the company as of October 2010.

    Routes and Airports

    • Kingfisher Red or Air Deccan operates routes to major cities in India, including Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, Gwahati and Goa. It is the only low-cost airline in India that also flies to smaller cities such as Tuticorin, Belgaum, Hubli, Chandigarh, Rajkot, Ranchi, Aizwal, Pune, Rajamundary and Madurai. Its network covers the entire country. Bangalore and Chennai International Airports are the hubs for the airline.

    Airplanes

    • Kingfisher Red or Air Deccan flies 23 ATR aircraft and 18 Airbus airplanes with seating of 150 to 180 on each plane, as of 2010. No business class is offered; the planes are all equipped with economy seats only.
