How to Find Non-Stop Routes on Airlines

Non-stop flights take off once and land once.Unlike direct flights, a non-stop route does not change flight numbers and will not touch down for quick stops to bring on or let off passengers. Finding non-stop flights for your trip can be easy if you live near a hub airport. If you live far from a major hub, you may have to drive to get to one.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine your departure and destination cities and your travel dates.

    • 2

Use a travel agent or online travel search engines to find your non-stop route. Examples of online travel search engines include Orbitz, Travelocity and Cheaptickets.

    • 3

Enter your dates of travel and departure and destination cities into the travel search engine sites. If using a travel agent, present him with the trip information. When possible, try to make your departure and destination cities major hubs. For example if you need to travel from northeastern Ohio to the middle of Kansas, try flying from Cleveland to Kansas City versus flying from Toledo to Topeka.

    • 4

Look at the route choices presented on the travel search engines or by the travel agent. Many of the search engines have options for non-stop routes. Check the non-stop route box and browse the results. Be sure to verify the flight is non-stop with no touchdowns versus a direct flight that may have additional touchdowns and takeoffs.
