Hotwire.com provides travel booking services through its online portal. In addition to booking air travel tickets, Hotwire enables you to book hotels. Hotwire offers several options for payment, including PayPal and most major credit cards. If you book enough hotel rooms with Hotwire, you'll be placed into its preferred customer category, which allows booking changes, cancellations and 24-hour phone customer service with no additional fees. Several features on Hotwire help you ensure that you get quality accommodations.
Click the "Hotels" link on the menu bar. Enter the city or airport where you need a hotel and then the dates you need the hotel.
Select your hotel option on the menu that appears after entering your dates of travel and region of choice. A red-highlighted hotel indicates a deeply discounted deal and one where Hotwire does not show the name of the hotel. To determine the quality of the hotel, look to the rating stars. Five stars indicates the highest-end facilities, with a single star being the lowest.
Find any gray hotels. Click on the grays to find the name of the hotel. The discount with a gray-highlighted hotel is not as deep, but Hotwire is allowed to show the name. Like the red hotels, check the star rating along with the name.
Select you preferred hotel based on rating and the icons that indicate services available at the hotel. Examples of icons include pool, spa, restaurant, lounge, Internet access, valet, laundry and golf or tennis.
Enter your personal information, either as a guest or an account holder at Hotwire. You do not need to be an account member to use Hotwire's service.
Choose your payment option and enter all requested fields. If you opt to pay with PayPal, fill in the PayPal forms as Hotwire redirects the payment site. Remit payment and receive an email confirmation number. Write this down for travel.
