A short term parking lot for visits less than nine hours is available at each of the two terminals. For longer parking, you can use the general parking lot or valet parking at Terminal 1-Lindbergh, or the MSP Value Parking lot connected to Terminal 2-Humphrey. If you are just at the airport to pick someone up and need a place to wait, you may park in the cell phone waiting lot between the two terminals, free of charge.
The airport offers a few services to improve the quality of your parking experience, including 24-hour security and stations within the parking lots where you can call for assistance. The SurePark service lets you find out what percentage of each terminal's parking is full online or via text message at any time. Those using the valet parking can take advantage of the car wash service for a small fee.
If you depart from the Minneapolis St. Paul airport frequently, the airport offers a ePark program to save you time and money. You pay a monthly membership fee ($95 as of 2010) in exchange for reduced parking rates and a guaranteed spot right by the terminal even when the lots are full. Rather than paying at the parking lot, an electronic pass similar to those used for prepaid tolls is scanned at your arrival and departure, and your account is billed automatically for the parking fee.
