Where is the black drum fish usually found?

Black drum fish are usually found in the shallow waters of the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of North America. They can be found in estuaries, bays, and inshore waters. They prefer sandy or muddy bottoms with plenty of cover, such as seagrass beds or oyster reefs. They are also known to move into brackish waters during the winter months.
