The structure beneath the Peace Bridge is the Peace Arch, a 37-meter (121-foot) monument straddling the U.S.–Canada border between Blaine, Washington, and Douglas, British Columbia (not Niagara Falls/Buffalo—that's the Peace Bridge itself). Dedicated in 1921, it commemorates over a century of peace between the two nations. The arch, built of Indiana limestone, features bronze figures representing Peace and Friendship. It's a popular tourist stop with panoramic views of the border landscape.
