Major Rivers of the Taiga Biome: North America, Europe, and Asia
The taiga (boreal forest) biome is drained by major river systems across three continents:
- North America: Yukon, Mackenzie, Nelson, Fraser, Columbia Rivers.
- Europe/Western Siberia: Pechora, Ob, Yenisei, Lena, Kolyma Rivers.
- Asia (Russian Far East & Northeast China): Amur (Heilongjiang), Sungari (Songhua), Yalu, Han, Yellow River (upper reaches).
These rivers are vital for transportation, hydroelectric power, fisheries, and indigenous cultures in the vast northern forest zone.
