Tributaries of the River Boyne (Ireland)
The River Boyne (Leinster, Ireland) has numerous tributaries. Major ones include:
- River Blackwater (Boyne) – largest tributary; joins at Navan.
- River Deel – flows from Co. Meath; joins near Stackallan.
- River Mattock – rises in Co. Meath; enters near Slane.
- River Stoneyford – small; joins near Donore.
- River Tremblestown – minor; near Trim.
- River Nanny – flows east from Co. Meath; enters near Duleek.
- River Skane – small; near Stackallan.
- River Tolka – Note: The Tolka is a separate Dublin river; likely an error in original list. The River Yellow (or Ownboy) is a Boyne tributary.
- River Liffey – Error: The Liffey is a separate river flowing through Dublin; it does not join the Boyne.
The Boyne's main stem is ~112 km long. Its catchment covers ~2,695 km². Famous for the Battle of the Boyne (1690) and the Neolithic Brú na Bóinne complex (Newgrange, Knowth, Dowth).
