Plan to travel by bus or car. Newcastle does not have a railway station, so traveling by bus is the most convenient method of public transportion.
Take the 10/A bus from O'Connell Street in the city center to University College Dublin (UCD). This service runs mornings only, every 20 minutes from 6:35 a.m. to 8:15 a.m, with a final service at 8L27 a.m. Take a cab to UCD if you wish to travel later in the day.
Get off at UCD and pick up the number 84 bus to Newcastle. Buses run every hour from 7 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Friday .The journey takes 80 minutes, arriving in Newcastle at 20 minutes past the hour. A reduced timetable is in operation on weekends.

Follow signs from central Dublin for the M50 and M11 if you decide to drive. The M11 will lead you onto the N11. Exit at Kiladreenan. Follow signs for Newcastle on the R772. Turn right at Main Street. Follow the R771 into the center of Newcastle.
