Atlantic City Bus Trips From New Castle, Delaware

New Castle, a small historic town on the bank of the Delaware River, relies on nearby Wilmington as a transportation hub with bus routes that run up the Eastern Seaboard and over to Atlantic City. Transportation companies based in other cities, close to New Castle, also have scheduled bus trips the Jersey Shore.
  1. Greyhound

    • Greyhound runs daily trips to Atlantic City from Wilmington, Delaware, roughly seven miles north of New Castle. Monday through Thursday, there are three buses at 8:05 a.m., 2.55 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. Passengers on all three buses transfer in Philadelphia. Friday through Sunday, there is an additional evening bus that leaves Wilmington at 8 p.m., and arrives in Atlantic City at 11 p.m., after a transfer in Philadelphia.

    Delaware Express

    • The Delaware Express runs two round-trip rides to Atlantic City on the first and third Tuesday of the month. The Express is based in Newark, 11 miles west from New Castle. Nicknamed the Showboat, the bus leaves in the morning and returns in the early evening. All passengers receive a Showboat coin package when they arrive in Atlantic City.

    Krapf Buses

    • Krapf Bus Companies offers a Chester County and Delaware casino line that runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Buses leaves at 9:40 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. from the front of the Delaware News building in Claymont, approximately 15 miles north of New Castle. There is also a Sunday trip that leaves at noon and returns at 11:30 p.m. Coaches are equipped with VCRs. As of December 2010, the company announced the afternoon trips were not running because of a lack of passengers. Krapf advises passengers to contact the office to check if the bus is running on a particular date.
