Both drivers and passengers must wear seat belts. Children under 5 must use a child safety seat and motorcyclists must wear a helmet.
Like in the U.S., driving in Aruba is on the right-hand side of the road. Right turns on red are prohibited. The speed limit in urban areas is 40 km/h and 60 km/h in rural areas unless otherwise posted.
Crime is low, but petty theft does occur. Keep your car locked, especially in remote areas. To contact the local police, dial 100 or 115.
