Travis County offers a Domestic Partnership Registry for unmarried couples (same or opposite sex) meeting these criteria:

Eligibility

• Both partners ≥18 years old.
• Neither married nor in another domestic partnership.
• Committed intimate relationship.
• Share a common residence in Travis County.
• Intend to remain committed indefinitely.
• Not related by blood closer than would bar marriage.

Registration Process

1. Complete Domestic Partnership Affidavit (both sign, notarized).
2. Provide valid photo ID + proof of shared residence (utility bill, lease).
3. Submit to Travis County Clerk (5555 Airport Blvd, Austin) or by mail.
4. Pay $25 filing fee.
5. Receive certificate.
