Cruises From Port Canaveral

Port Canaveral, located in Cape Canaveral, Florida is a major shipping port for cargo ships and cruise lines. Port Canaveral is conveniently located on Florida's central east coast, offering easy travel to the Caribbean. Four cruise lines offer cruises from Port Canaveral to destinations in the Caribbean: Disney Cruise Line, Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line.
  1. Disney Cruise Line

    • The Disney Cruise Line is geared toward families with children of all ages. Four ships make up the Disney fleet: Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and in 2012, Disney Fantasy. Disney Dream takes its maiden voyage in January 2011. This state-of-the art family-oriented cruise ship offers hip and innovative spaces for its kids and teens. Teen-only lounges include an illuminated dance floor, Internet lounges, and its own sun deck and pool. The Oceaneers Club for younger children will have kids engaged in fun and educational activities. Families can also enjoy 3-D movies poolside, and the AquaDuck, the first ever water roller coaster at sea. For adults, there are nightclubs and a spa. Nightly entertainment includes Disney-themed musicals and performances.

    Carnival Cruise Line

    • Carnival Cruise Lines offer affordable cruises to destinations around the world. Two of Carnival's Fun Ships, the Carnival Sensation and the Carnival Dream take passengers from Port Canaveral to the Caribbean. The Carnival Dream debuted in 2009 and features a wide variety of amenities and activities for all ages. Families can sit poolside and watch movies on the jumbo LED screen, or spend an afternoon sliding down the Carnival Waterworks drainpipe water slides. Special lounges for children and teens include Camp Carnival for children up to age 11 and club spaces for tween and older teenagers. Adults can unwind in the adults only Serenity Retreat or relax in a therapeutic spa pool. The ship also has a casino, several restaurants, Internet hubs throughout the ship and nightly shows.

    Royal Caribbean

    • Royal Caribbean prides itself on offering passengers the ultimate cruise experience, with endless activities and amenities. The Monarch of the Seas and Freedom of the Seas are the two main Royal Caribbean ships that travel between Port Canaveral and the Caribbean. The Freedom of th Seas ship debuted in 2006 with the popular surfing simulator ride, the FlowRider, the H20 Zone waterpark, and a rock-climbing wall. Royal Caribbean offers plenty for children to do and teens have their own lounges to hang out in. Special dances are put on for the teens as well. Head to the ice skating rink for a lesson or an ice show. There is also a casino, adult night clubs, several restaurants and bars, day spa and even a boxing ring. Classes such as cooking and wine tasting are also offered on the ship.

    Norwegian Cruise Line

    • The Norwegian Cruise Line is famous for their freestyle cruising, meaning there are absolutely no schedules or agendas you need to stick to, such as specific dining times that many ships have. The Norwegian Sun cruise ship travels to the Caribbean from Port Canaveral. The ship features 14 different dining options, a state-of-the-art fitness center, teen discos and children's centers. There is also a Balinese day spa, a casino, and an Internet cafe. Nightly live entertainment includes elaborate Broadway-style productions and dance performances, as well as featured comedians and vocalists.
