With pools, a casino, a spa and numerous dining options, this mini-vacation opportunity is perfect for those looking for a change of pace. Current scheduled departure dates are Oct. 23, 2010, and Oct. 22, 2011.

    Carnival Cruise to the Bahamas

    • The Carnival Glory also takes five- and six-day cruises to the Bahamas out of Norfolk, Virginia. With ports of call at Nassau, Freeport and Half Moon Cay, travelers can get a real taste of the Bahamas. In addition to the amenities offered on the ship, guests can choose from dozens of organized shore excursion opportunities such as scuba diving, swimming with dolphins at Atlantis or taking tours of the islands. Those who want to keep their feet on the ground can explore the island on bikes, trolley train, carriage and even a Segway. This cruise departs Norfolk on Oct. 16, 2011.

    Royal Caribbean Cruise to Bermuda

    • The Royal Caribbean cruise line also offers a five-night Bermuda cruise that departs from Norfolk. Aboard the Enchantment of the Seas, guests will travel from Norfolk to King's Wharf, Bermuda. The ship can house almost 2,500 passengers in ocean view and interior staterooms, which have two twin beds, although additional Pullman beds are available in some rooms. Passengers can enjoy multiple pools, a fitness center, spa, casino, bungee trampoline and rock climbing wall onboard. This cruise typically sets sail in May and June.

    Royal Caribbean Cruise to the Caribbean

    • The most extensive cruise offered out of Norfolk, the Royal Caribbean's nine-night cruise to the Caribbean, stops at San Juan, Puerto Rico; St Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Samana, Dominican Republic; and Labadee, Haiti. With cruises offered in May and June, this summer cruise option explores some of the prettiest ports in the Caribbean.
