    • Holland America Cruise Line offers departures from Boston aboard the ms Maasdam, a smaller 719-foot cruise ship that holds 1,258 passengers. A 14-day Canada cruise from May to September docks in Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and Quebec City. As of 2010, rates start at $1,550 for an interior cabin to $6,650 for a deluxe verandah suite. If you have more than a month to travel, consider the 35-day Voyage of the Vikings that takes you to Canada, Great Britain, Iceland, Greenland, France, Ireland and Scotland. Prices start around $6,600 for an interior cabin to about $12,500 for a deluxe verandah suite.

    Royal Caribbean International Cruise Line

    • You can choose from four seven-night round-trip cruises along the New England and Canadian coasts in September and October on board Royal Caribbean's Jewel of the Sea. Prices start around $660 to about $2,150. If you'd like a Caribbean cruise that disembarks in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., or Tampa, Fla., at the end of October, you can choose from two special one-way 13- or 14-day cruises that stop in Caribbean ports, including St. Thomas, St. Martin, St. Lucia, Barbados and Curacao. Cabin rates start around $950 and go up to about $4,300.
