Carnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Norwegian offer three-day cruise itineraries departing from Miami, all with stops in The Bahamas. Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas visits Coco Cay, Bahamas, a private island reserved exclusively for guests, while Carnival Cruises and Celebrity pay visits to Nassau. Norwegian is one of few to offer guests two stops in the Bahamas on their three-day cruise, with visits to both Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, the cruise lines' private island.
MSC is the only cruise line to offer three-day cruises out of Fort Lauderdale. This Italian mega cruise company offers an itinerary that departs from Fort Lauderdale and goes on to Key West and Nassau, before returning to Fort Lauderdale. Unfortunately, Poesia, the MSC Cruise ship which makes this trip, sails only a few times a year.
Disney Cruise Lines offers three-day cruises that depart from Port Canaveral and visit both Nassau and Castaway Cay, the private Disney island. Passengers are able to purchase packages that allow for seven-day trips with four days spent at the Disney World theme park and three on one of their weekly cruises.
Royal Caribbean and Carnival also offer three-night Bahamas cruise departing from Orlando's Port Canaveral. Royal Caribbean's ships visit Nassau and Coco Cay, while Carnival ships visit only Nassau.
Neither Jacksonville or Tampa offer three-day itineraries with any of the major cruise lines. However, adding a fourth day opens up a whole range of opportunities. Carnival takes Jacksonville patrons on a four-day itinerary to Nassau and Freeport, while Royal Caribbean and Carnival allow Tampa-area passengers to travel to Cozumel, Mexico on their four-day itineraries. Likewise, more options become available in the aforementioned port cities, such as a four-day itinerary out of Miami that visits Key West and Cozumel, which is available through Royal Caribbean or Carnival. Generally speaking however, a three-day itinerary departing out of Florida has limited options, with most if not all calling on ports in The Bahamas.
