On Ausail's regular schedule are two Pittwater cruises, lasting three and four days, respectively. The first departs Lake Macquarie, sails around Pittwater and anchors at secluded bays at night. The other one offers the same activities as the first, but also includes time in Sydney. A third, the Mystery Destination Cruise, depends on the direction of the wind for its route. If the wind is blowing from the north, Pittwater will be the tour's destination.
The MV Reliance, a 91-year-old timber ferry, can carry up to 30 guests on customized cruises in the waters surrounding Pittwater and into the bays of the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. The locally-built ferry features windows that can be opened to let fresh air in and covers that keep inclement weather out. The boat is available for full- or half-day charters.
These cruises are similar to Bobbin Head's, but the company's 55-foot timber launch will only accommodate 20 guests. The MV Maltby may be chartered for two hours or up to a full day. Visitors can choose their destination and departure time. Most of the tours follow the Pittwater shoreline and spend some time moored beside Ku-ring-gai Chase. One of Northern Beaches Cruises' unique offerings is a two-hour sunset cruise of Pittwater.
The company operates a 65-foot party boat, Skippers Afloat, with a capacity of 100 people. The vessel has panoramic windows, as well as a large viewing platform upstairs. It is popular for corporate entertaining and weddings at sea. As with most of the other Pittwater tour boats, Skippers Afloat can be chartered for the time and route desired. Pittwater also operates a 46-foot sailing catamaran that mostly cruises the waterways of the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Available for day charters, it can also accommodate up to six persons on overnight tours.
