Oceanic Cruises in Washington

While the state of Washington isn't one of the most popular ports of departure for oceanic cruises, there are several cruises to Alaska that begin in Washington, in addition to cruises of the San Juan Islands and Puget Sound.
  1. Alaskan Cruises

    • Alaskan cruises typically depart from Seattle and last for seven days or more. Companies that offer Alaskan cruises from Washington include Norwegian Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises and Holland America.

    San Juan Island Cruises

    • Cruises that depart from Seattle and travel through the San Juan Islands to Alaska are available through Lindblad Expeditions and Cruise West, among others. Catalyst Cruises also offers a seven-day oceanic cruise of Puget Sound and the Islands, aboard a 62-foot luxury yacht.

    Whale Waching Tours

    • There are also smaller oceanic day cruises that depart from Everett and Anacortes, Washington. These cruises typically last from two-and-a-half to six hours, and feature sightings of the Orca, Minke, Gray and Humpback whales, in addition to seals, porpoises and sea lions. Companies that offer Island day cruises include San Juan Safaris, Island Adventures and Western Prince Whale and Wildlife Tours.
