Try to get a room with a porthole without paying for the price of the more expensive room. Deck 5 has a few rooms referred to as "secret porthole" staterooms. These staterooms are priced as inside staterooms, because their portholes have partially blocked views. They might not offer the best view of the seas because they are obstructed by safety boats, but do allow outside light into the rooms. Cabins to request for this tip include 5020, 5520, 5022, 5522 and 5524.
Just like the "secret porthole," another type of secret room referred to as the "secret verandah" offers guests a completely enclosed deck off their room with a porthole. Though not as great as having a full verandah, this type of room offers a separate outside sitting area attached to the room. These rooms are sold as Category 7 staterooms and include cabin numbers 6134, 6634, 7120 and 7620.
Do not be afraid to ask for an upgrade upon checking in for your cruise, especially if you are paying full price. Those who paid full price for the cruise will be the first to be upgraded.

Take full advantage of meals included with your cruise vacation, and order food to take with you when you go on a shore excursion. Keep your meal simple. A sandwich, fruit or snack is easy to carry and can be ordered from room service or at a quick service dining location. This way you will not have to pay for the pricey restaurant meals and can enjoy a nice lunch on the beach.
