Wanderlust World Wanderlust World Atlantis Resort could serve as a vacation by itself. Atlantis has an interactive dolphin program called Dolphin Cay. It also houses a huge water park called Aquaventure and several aquatic viewing areas where guests can see sharks, dolphins and stingrays. Snorkeling and scuba diving are also available, and guests may relax on the private beach or take a tour of a recreation of the ruins of the imaginary ancient city of Atlantis.
The activities at the Atlantis Resort are for guests of the resort. However Disney Cruise Lines offers several different Atlantis excursions, and it is useful to read the excursion information carefully before you book, because each adventure offers access to different parts of the Atlantis Resort. You can book an excursion for a day at the water park, to swim with the dolphins, to tour Atlantis Resort or just to relax on the beach. The beach option requires a taxi ride to the Comfort Inn to pick up wristbands and then a taxi ride back to the Atlantis Resort. One advantage of being a Disney Cruise passenger is that if inclement weather conditions close parts of the Atlantis Resort, regular guests will not get a refund while those who booked through Disney Cruise Line will.
Some Disney Cruise Line guests have found that it is easier or less expensive to book a day at Atlantis in some way other than through the cruise line. Guests can book a day room at Atlantis, which will give them access to the entire resort. Many guests also choose to book a night at the nearby Comfort Inn. Guests of the Comfort Inn are also entitled to use any of the amenities of the Atlantis Resort.
